So, I got married to Saima Says on Saturday :) We had our Nikkah which is the civil and religious ceremony that makes us Man and Wife under the eyes of the law and God (or Darwin..depending on your belief structure). It feels amazing, it has injected a sense of responsibilty and a need to care for the ladyfolk in my life including my mum and sis, as well as my new sis' to a greater degree. Knowing I have a wife has somehow added to my motivation to improve myself in every way imaginable. I must say, its not so much the act of marrying which has instigated this desire to change, rather the person I have been blessed with as a life partner
The whole weekend reinvigorated my love for the concept of family, my wonderful lot were all there for me and without question I fell in love with Saima's family, even more than I could expect. They are the most diverse, fun, brilliant, vivacious and damn smart bunch of folks I have met, they have such a strong sense of togetherness and it felt incredible to know I am one of them as much as they are now a part of my family.
If my kids ever read this, my only advice for them in life is to try their best to become interesting and kind, then marry someone who is far more interesting and kinder belonging to an interesting and kind family. You'll live a good life. Promise.
Where have I been? Having used the net for about 9 years I have only just got round to blogging. Better late I suppose. Well, this will be a place to frequently (I hope) offload the cranial clutter but I will get round to doing another customised blog (can I say that here?) which is where I hope to log my athletics training (Dammit mum I'm going to make it to the pro's just keep those rent cheques a comin').
